So, I got a Playstation 3. Perhaps not the best of moves, considering that I have a 15,000 word thesis to write. I've just paid - or am paying - for an extra six months to get my thesis in - and have had to work solidly to stay on top of my debts the last few months. It's amazing how little support banks and universities will give to Masters degree students, i.e. none. You'd think they'd have a vested interest in helping one to get through the course as one's wage would increase dramatically on completion, but no. Not a jot of assistance, just threatening letters if my account goes a pound over my measly overdraft facility.
I need to get back into writing. Work doesn't give me many opportunities to write, so i need to use all my spare time. I may well have to ban myself from the PS3, or at least restrict it's use. It might be healthier anyway. It's a shame you can't keep your mum in a box and pull her out to nag you when necessary. Aidan, you're grounded. No PS3, no tv, no friends around - do your homework .
I've decided that I'm going to try writing a short essay, maybe a thousand words - just to get me back in the mood. Something that interests me. Watch this space...
